Welcome to Year 2!
Spring term will be a busy one where we will be exploring different texts in English, building on our Maths learning to solve problems and grow confidence in our reasoning about Maths. Our topic will be Polar Lands and we look forward to learning about both the Arctic and Antarctic.
One of our main priorities will cotinue to be handwriting, as we get to grips with Kinetic Letters, securing our 2,5,and 10 times tables knoweldge and our grammar knowledge too!
Homework will be sent home in folders every Wednesday to be returned by the following Monday.
Spellings sent home as part of your child's homework should be practised throughout the week ready for a spelling quiz the following week. We will be learning spellings that reflect the week's spelling lesson as well as key spelling rules children need to learn by the end of KS1.
Reading should be done as often as possible to support the children in building fluency and understanding. Please add a note to your child's yellow reading journal when you have read with them.
Our P.E. days will be Tuesday (core exercises) and Friday (Games, gymnastics, dance.) However, PE kits must be in school every day.
