Laudato Si Week
The children have been responding to Pope Francis' letter Laudato Si and have been thinking of ways we can look after our Common Home and God's creation.
Share the Journey
On the feast of St Peter and Paul, our children were joined by parents and parishioners to walk to St Edward the Confessor Church for Mass. They had taken up Pope Francis' challenge to 'Share the Journey' with refugees who have had to flee their homes. This helped us reflect on the need to recognise that all people are our brothers and sisters in Christ and we wanted to demonstrate our love for them. In total we walked about 300 miles!
Our Lampedusa Pilgrimage.
During Assembly all the children took part in a silent pilgrimage around the playground thinking about refugees who had to leave their families, friends and homes in order to be safe.
Our Pilgrimage was led by a Lampedusa Cross - this is a cross made from the wood of the boots carrying refugees to safety in Europe. This Cross is a symbol of the care and love we have for our brothers and sisters across the World and is displayed in our front entrance.
