Welcome to Britain Week.
We have had a fantastic varied and creative week this week! We were inspired by the Royal wedding to think about the unique place that is Britain, the things that make us British and how we can welcome people to Britain.
Classes have entertained visitors who have moved to this country from elsewhere. They have been sharing their stories, explaining what it felt like and how they were made to feel welcome. Children have been engaging with the challenges and changes for people moving here and have asked excellent questions.
Each class has researched a word of the week and created an oral presentation for their prayer partner class to share their learning.

Children have been trying out British activities like cricket, rounders, croquet, Morris dancing and even Maypole dancing!
We created Welcome to Britain information in various forms; making leaflets, posters and green screen presentations.
We also took the opportunity to research some recipes from different parts of the UK and provide some delicious British treats!
We finished off our week with a Great British Picnic where children dressed in red white and blue and shared a picnic with their families. Families played games and re-created some Art work by British artists in chalk on the playground.
Families were then invited to visit a display of our work including some of the delicious British cooking!
