On Tuesday 19th November, Year 6 hosted a non-uniform day and a cake sale to raise money to help the people of the Philippines affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
We distributed invitiation to our neighbours, advertised it around the school and encouraged the rest of the school to bring in cakes and money to spend.
Then on the day, we set the stalls up in the hall along with tea and coffee. Some Filippino parents also came and set up a stall selling noodles and other hot food.
It was a tremendous success! We sold most of the cakes, many of which were homemade. At times, the hall was so full of hungry shoppers we couldn't see the people selling on the other side.
In total, we raised just over £600 which we are donating to the people of the Philippines via CAFOD.
Thank you to everybody who came and supported it and made it such a success!
