Catholic Social Teaching
CAFOD and Catholic Social Teaching
At our school, we follow the values of Catholic Social Teaching, which help us understand how God wants us to live in the world. These values include the dignity of the human person, caring for the poor and vulnerable, looking after God’s creation, the importance of family and community, and working together for justice and peace. We believe that every person is special and loved by God, and that we are all part of one global family.
CAFOD (the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development) helps us put these values into action. Through their work, we learn about real people in other parts of the world who need support. We explore issues like hunger, climate change, and unfair treatment, and we take part in fundraising, awareness days, and prayers to help make a difference. CAFOD reminds us that even small acts of kindness can bring big changes.
By learning about and living out Catholic Social Teaching, we grow in compassion and learn how to be responsible, caring citizens. We understand that God calls us to build a better and fairer world, where everyone is treated with love and respect. Through our actions and our learning, we become the hands, eyes, and heart of Jesus in our school, our homes, and beyond.
