Bamenda - Lent 2013

During Lent the children raised over £528 for Bamenda in the Cameroons. Many children took part in sponsored events in and out of school.
Year 6 organised an Easter Egg Raffle and we also had a Table Top Sale.
Thank you and well done to everyone who supported our chosen charity this year.
Please read the letter we've received thanking us for our donation

Dear Miss Clark

I am writing to thank you all for your generous contribution of £528.74 to the Bamenda Fund. The money will go towards helping our work in education ,such as building and repairing schools and assisting with paying school fees for poor and orphaned children.

You may be aware that next year we will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of our link with Bamenda with a delegation from Portsmouth going to Bamenda next February with a reciprocal visit next June..Next year the Lenten collection will focus on " BOOKS FOR BAMENDA" and the proceeds will go a long way in funding the text books which are vital in helping to improve literacy.

You may also be interested to learn that a number of primary schools in the Diocese are looking to twin with schools in Bamenda .If this is something that your school might be interested in do let me know and I will arrange to come and talk to you.

Once again many thanks to you all for your generosity
