Welcome to Year 2!
Happy New Year to you all - we hope you had a good rest and are raring to go! Please remember your weekly reading is part of your homework and also remember to check this page for the homework if you have misplaced your copy.
The children are working hard on learning their lines and songs for our upcoming Nativity performances. Please support them at home with their learning as they bring their lines home. Thank you!
Thank you to the parents who attended the Meet the Teacher event today - the PowerPoint used is attached below.
Autumn term will be a busy one where we will be exploring different texts in English, building on our Maths learning to solve problems and grow confidence in our reasoning about Maths. Our topic will be Towers and Tiaras.
One of our main priorities will continue to be handwriting, as we get to grips with Kinetic Letters, securing our 2,5,and 10 times tables knowledge and our grammar knowledge too!
Homework will be sent home in folders every Wednesday to be returned by the following Monday.
Spellings sent home as part of your child's homework should be practised throughout the week ready for a spelling quiz the following week. We will be learning spellings that reflect the week's spelling lesson as well as key spelling rules children need to learn by the end of KS1.
Reading should be done as often as possible to support the children in building fluency and understanding. Please add a note to your child's reading journal when you have read with them and don't forget to initial the front sheet!
Our P.E. days will mainly be Tuesday. However, PE kits must be in school every day.
