KS2

Welcome to KS2

KS2 is made up of Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 and children continue to be asked to do their best everyday. Children are taught a broad range of subjects and a foreign langauge is introduced in year 3. Reading remains a top priority and children are encouraged to read with, to and on their own as much as possible. In fact, children read in all curriculum subjects.

In maths, children consolidate their understanding of number and place value, calculation, fractions, decimals and percentages, geometry and statisitics through a CPA approach - we use practical resources to explain concepts, pictures and images as a tool to explain them and then use a variety of methods to help understand them.

RE is a core subject and children continue to learn about the message of God through scripture stories and how it influences our lives and the lives of others today.

Children continue to learn about the history of Britain and Ancient Civilisations, the world around us including where people live and the world's physical geography, music, art, DT and PE.
