On Tuesday 13th June, Holy Cross House organised a fabulous International Day for the school. They allocated a continent to each class and challenged children to come dressed in a way to represent the continent. Children from other cultures could also come dressed to represent their heritage. Classes learnt a poem, song or dance typical of the culture of their continent and all children took part in a Flag Quiz. The children, especially keen footballers, could identify loads of flags and did a much better job than the staff!
As we gathered for the Celebration Assembly it certainly showed what a colourful world we live in and how we can celebrate the great variety of cultures that make up our community.
The House Captains did a great job organising the event which raised just over £200 for Bamenda in the Cameroon.
