Sports

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Silver Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Biggest Ever Football Session!

On Friday 8th March, we joined in with the FA's Biggest Ever Football Session to celebrate International Women’s Day at our school. The aim was to get as many girls as possible all playing football on the same day in schools across England. At lunchtime, we ran some games for the girls to get involved in and join in the fun and over 50 girls joined in! More information on the #Letgirlsplay initiative can be found at https://www.englandfootball.com/play/youth-football/in-education/letgirlsplay

Women's World Cup Day - 20th July 2023

To celebrate the opening day of the Women's World Cup, throughout the day our children got involved in football related activities and were visited by representatives of AFC Stoneham who came to talk about women's football. The children were excited to get to meet England Beach Soccer player Chloe Marshall and ask her questions about her career. Some of the girls were also lucky enough to be presented trophies by Chloe for playing some fantastic football during the day!

The Monday Mile

When will we do this?

Every class will participate in this fun, social activity where at some point during the school day on Mondays, each class will get the chance to walk, run or jog, at their own pace for 15 minutes. There is no need for the children to wear PE kit especially for this.

Why are we doing this?

Physical activity during the school day has been shown to help improve focus in the classroom, as well as improve the physical and mental health of the children.

How can you help?

You can get involved in supporting this initiative at home too by encouraging the children to engage in exercise and encouraging their confidence in running.

Cheerleading Club

Our new cheerleading club is amazing. The children are learning new moves and their balance and confidence is increasing every session! Thanks to Miss Wilkin for coaching.
