School Closure Update

Dear Parents

I am really aware how much distress the situation we find ourselves in is causing. But wanted to thank you for your support and the staff for their on-going, incredible commitment to the children.
At this moment in time (9pm) I have not received the definitive list from the Government about which roles are classed as Key Workers. However, Hampshire County Council have suggested the following groups would be Key Workers:
  • NHS and Health Care Staff
  • Social Care Staff
  • School Staff
  • Emergency services
  • Council workers needed for essential work
  • Drivers delivering essential goods
Tomorrow I will review the information parents have sent today and will prioritise children where BOTH parents or in the case of a single parent would qualify as a key worker and then these children will be offered continued provision at school. We will phone these parents directly to agree their requirements and understand that some parents may need support every day  and others on a few days.

The government has also asked schools to support vulnerable children - tomorrow we will be contacting parents if your child is part of this group.

Depending on capacity and the number of staff we have in  may mean we can offer provision to other children with one parent who is a key worker.

If we do not phone you tomorrow and you feel that you do fit the criteria of a key worker please contact us so we can review the support we maybe able to offer you.

For the vast majority of our families, school will close, at the end of the day, tomorrow and children will need to work from home. I deeply regret and am saddened that we can’t continue working with our amazing children and their parents. We will do out best to keep in contact with you and ask that you do keep in contact with us through emails or phone calls, especially if you need some help.

With best wishes

Miss Clark
