  • Message from Miss Clark

    Fri 24 Apr 2020

    Dear Parents and Carers,

"Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." Proverbs 19: 21

Earlier today, Justin, our Chair of Governors, announced that this would be my last term at St Swithun Wells, as I am leaving at the end of this academic year. As I hope you can imagine, this wasn't an easy or simple decision to make, especially at this most difficult time, but one that I felt was right for St Swithun Wells and myself.

For the last 15 years, St Swithun Wells has been my home and holds a very dear place in my heart. I know I am leaving behind a great community, fantastic staff and governors and wonderful children and parents. The last 15 years have been an incredible journey and I thank everyone associated with the school for travelling with me, helping me carry the luggage and ensuring we reach a safe and wonderful destintation. For me, that has always been the gift of education we give to the children - not just in terms of academic achievement but their personal and spiritual development and chance to become the best person they can be.

The school I will be moving to has had a very challenging year and I felt that I could make a difference to those children, knowing that the community here, would continue to make a difference to your and future children.

When we finished on the 20th March, I made a commitment to year 6 that we would mark their leaving and moving on to secondary school. At this moment we do not know when or if we will be fully open before the end of term; but I will be focusing on ensuring our year 6 children leave knowing how much we value and appreciate their time at St Swithun Wells.  I will be here for the rest of this term and no doubt see and hear from you all. There may not be the opportunity in the summer for me to say goodbye to you all, but there will be a chance for me to personally thank you and say goodbye at some point.

Thank you for your continued support and friendship. I would particularly like to thank Justin for his support and know the process of recruiting a new head teacher is in very safe hands under his leadership.  I will continue to pray for the children and their families and the school and ask that you pray for me.

    With all good wishes

    Miss Clark

  • Important announcement from the Governors

    Fri 24 Apr 2020

    Dear parents and carers

I hope you are all well and keeping safe during lockdown.

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Miss Clark will be leaving us at the end of the academic year.  She will be taking up a position as Head Teacher in another school within our Diocese.

Miss Clark has dedicated herself to the school for the last 15 years and leaves us in a much stronger position. She has led us to many achievements including our most recent OFSTED review, an “Outstanding” grading in the Diocesan section 48 inspection and recognition from the Secretary of State for Education for our outstanding results in SATs a couple of years ago.

On behalf of the governors, I would like to express our gratitude for the hard work, support, care and spiritual leadership she has given during her time with us.  We wish her every success in the future.

The governors and I will be looking to recruit a new Head Teacher and we will keep you informed of our progress.

May I ask you to pray for the school and Miss Clark in the coming months.

    Best wishes,

    Justin  Harris

    Chair of Governors

  • Happy" Sing-a-long!

    Thu 23 Apr 2020 U Clark

We are sending emails from the website - please look out for and check spam for emails from the school which will have the email address as ..primarysite.

I hope you are enjoying the YouTube posts - this week we've set you a challenge: Please send us a short video of the children and yourself singing and dancing to Pharrell Williams "Happy" - we will then create a video to share!

We know this is a difficult time for everyone, but can see the children are trying really hard and you are all doing a great job supporting them. We are working on ways to stay connected - teachers when they are in school will phone you, Years 5 and 6 are having Zoom meetings with the children in their class and we are planning on extending this to other year groups. This is a massive learning curve for everyone but we will continue to do our best to support you

    Best wishes

    Miss Clark

  • Easter Holidays

    Thu 02 Apr 2020

Next week it is the Easter Holiday - please have some downtime and forget about school work!

Our tradition has been to make Easter Gardens over the holiday - how creative can you be? It doesn't have to be one with living plants! Just remember to read the Easter story and let your garden reflect what happened to Jesus.

Send me photos of your gardens so I can share them with others.
